UW Professor to head National Farm Medicine’s new Dairy Workers Institute


UW Professor Mathew Keifer has been hired to head the National Farm Medicine Center's
Wisconsin Dairy Workers Safety and Health Initiative. His role will include research into the ergonomics of dairy tasks and training for language-limited workers, education and training in the use of protective equipment, as well as on-farm injury prevention consultation services. This initiative will partner with the University of Wisconsin College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin and those who are involved in the State's dairy industry.
